===== Vollversammlung aller Physikstudierenden =====

===== Unsere Fakultät – Unsere Forschung =====

=== Physik ===

=== Mathematik ===

===== Prüfungsanmeldung =====

Denkt daran, euch vom 21.

===== Winterfest im Physikum/Biologikum =====

===== Abschleppaktion rund um das Felix-Klein-Gebäude =====

=== Physik ===

=== Mathematik ===

===== Unsere Fakultät – Unsere Forschung =====

=== Physics ===

On Monday, the 21st of November, from 2 pm to 4 pm we are holding the next event of our lecture series “Unsere Fakultät – Unsere Forschung” (“Our faculty – Our research”) in lecture hall E. This semester Prof. Dr. Armin Nagel from the University Hospital (Radiology) and Prof. Dr. Michael Schmiedeberg (Theoretical Physics I) will talk about the research done in their groups and will give you an insight into their work aside from their lectures. The talks will be given in German. Before the event the Fachschaft will give out some snacks for everyone interested.

=== Mathematics ===

And of course there will be an UFUF in the mathematics department as well, with each a presentation from the applied and theoretical mathematics: On Monday, the 28th of November, from 6 pm to 8 pm in lecture hall 12 Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Achtziger (Applied Mathematics 2) and Prof. Dr. Sara Daneri (Analysis) will present their research projects. The talks will be given in German. The Fachschaft will provide beverages and specialties from a local bakery.

===== Registration for exams =====

Don’t forget that the registration for your exams on the online portal meinCampus will be open from the 21st of November to the 9th of December.

===== NatFak International Evening: Studying abroad in the sciences =====

Have you ever thought about spending a semester abroad or looking for an internship outside of Germany? Would you like to get some further information on how to finance such a plan or get to hear about the experiences your fellow students had? Then join us for our International Evening on Monday, the 28th of November, at 6 pm in the new chemistry building (“Chemikum”) in lecture hall C4. Some snacks and beverages will be provided. The event will be held in German. If you are interested in an English version of the International Evening please contact Patrik Stör via patrik.stoer@fau.de <mailto:patrik.stoer@fau.de> or +49 9131 85 67 116.

===== Winterparty =====

On Thursday, the 8th of December starting 6 pm, we – the students associations FSI Mathe/Physik and FSI Biologie/ILS – will hold our legendary Winterparty. The organization is running at full power and will be finished soon. We will serve Franconian beer, hot glogg, delicious cocktails, Leberkäs-Weckla from a local butcher and good music by DJ Micha and your professors.

We are looking forward seeing you there and to have an amazing Winterparty!

===== Towing of cars at the Felix-Klein-building =====

In light of recent events we would like to ask you to be careful not to park your cars in prohibited areas. In the past weeks several vehicles had to be towed at the Felix-Klein-building, because they were blocking spaces that have to be accessible to the fire department. Please keep in mind that you can only park on designated parking spots, and that if you block fire department access you risk your car, motorcycle or bike being removed without warning (at your cost). You can check out the image at [link expired] to see a map of all the area that you are not allowed to park in. In case you are unable to find a free space at the Felix-Klein-building you might want to try your luck at the parking lot of the new chemistry building (“Chemikum”).

===== Physical and mathematical colloquia =====

If your interest in mathematics or physics is still not satisfied despite the lectures and seminars you are already attending, you might want to visit the colloquia of the mathematics and physics departments, in which international researchers talk about their work.

=== Physics ===

The physical colloquia take place every Monday in lecture hall E at 4.15 pm. You can find details on the department’s website, physik.fau.de/aktuelles/physikalisches-kolloquium.shtml <http://physik.fau.de/aktuelles/physikalisches-kolloquium.shtml>, or on the poster opposite to the lecture hall.

=== Mathematics ===

The mathematical colloquia take place every Tuesday at 4.30 pm in H13. You can find the titles of the readings at math.fau.de/aktuelles/kolloquium <http://math.fau.de/aktuelles/kolloquium>.

===== Meetings and consultation hours of the FSI Mathe/Physik =====

The meetings of the FSI Mathe/Physik take place every Wednesdays at 6 pm, alternating in the FSI room in the physics (room U1.833 under lecture hall F, in even calendar weeks) and in the mathematics (room 209 under lecture hall 11, in odd calendar weeks). This means that the next meeting this semester is in the maths room on Wednesday, the 9th of November. We are looking forward to welcome you there!

We also offer consultation hours in the FSI room. In these you can get rid of open questions, make suggestions for our work or just come by for a chat. The consultation hours are:

Mondays from 1 pm to 2 pm and Wednesdays from 12 am to 1 pm in the physics room as well as
Mondays from 1 pm to 2 pm, Wednesdays from 10.15 am to 11.30 am and Thursdays from 2 pm to 3 pm in maths room.

Otherwise our rooms are always open for you, if someone is there. In case you can’t find anybody in the rooms, you can simply speak to us whenever you see one of us in the corridor or write an email to fsi-mathe-physik@fau.de <mailto:fsi-mathe-physik@fau.de>. 🙂

===== StudOn year groups for physicist =====

At the physics department’s StudOn page there exist so called “year groups”, which are used by the department to notify you quickly and effectively about current news. These news include for example registrations for seminars and laboratory courses, or changes in the examination regulations. As you can see all of those news are quite important, therefore we appeal to you to join those groups. You might wonder why the department doesn’t use internal mailing lists to inform you (which would be possible), but data protection laws impose strict regulations on the use of these lists and result in long applications before anything gets sent. So take up the offer – it will be useful to you! The groups can be found on StudOn → Nat → Studienservicecenter → SSC Physik.
